Potomac Playmakers' Third Annual One-Act Play Festival By Area Playwrights

The Potomac Playmakers have announced its third annual One-Act Play Festival By
Area Playwrights. For the last two years, The Potomac Playmakers have staged
a series of one-act plays written by Maryland playwrights. For this third
installment, the Potomac Playmakers conducted a playwriting competition, and
opened it up to playwrights from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and
Pennsylvania. The winning plays are as follows:
“A Mother’s Love” by Amelia Lowry, directed by Angelina Guiducci, and
starring Tom Doty, Stephanie Ann Lucille Heward, and Jacob Reese. A mother
delivers a baby boy, only to find out that the baby is an intellectual who
may have heard a little too much Nietzsche in the womb!
“Tailored” by Jeffrey A. Marcum, directed by Lori Goodnow with Greg
Berezuk, and Starring Tom Doty, Jake Smith, Kaitlyn Teach, and Jeff Wine.
A son returns to his hometown for the first time in years for his father’s
funeral, and visits the tailor’s shop where he used to work to get a new
suit. But, the tailor may have a different design on the young man as the
tailor weaves a plot to unite the man with the tailor’s daughter.
“Where’s Gus?” by Charlie Perkins, Directed by Jim Zuna, and Starring
Stephanie Ann Lucille Heward, Kaitlyn Teach, and Jeff Wine. A dog’s
owner brings a new cat into the home, and the dog isn’t happy with this new
development, especially as he can’t find the older dog who’s been missing
for awhile! The kitten, meanwhile, can think of nothing but escape. Can the
young dog work together with the kitten and teach her the ways of the world,
just as a burglar arrives?
Additionally, The Potomac Playmakers will stage “The Snallygaster” by
Kristen Evans, which was a winning play in the Frostburg University One Act
Playwriting Competition. In the play, Directed by Maverick McKee and
Starring Sean Besecker, Stephanie Ann Lucille Heward, and Jacob Reese, a
husband and wife are at the crossroads of their marriage in the husband’s
