The Potomac Playmakers have announced the third show of the 2017–18 Season, Rob
Urbinati’s comedy, "Death By Design." What happens when you mix the
brilliant wit of Noël Coward with the intricate plotting of Agatha Christie?
Set during a weekend in an English country manor in 1932, "Death by Design" is
a delightful and mysterious “mash-up” of two of the greatest English
writers of all time. Edward Bennett, a playwright, and his wife, Sorel
Bennett, an actress, flee London and head to Cookham after a disastrous
opening night. But various guests arrive unexpectedly – a conservative
politician, a fiery socialist, a nearsighted ingénue, a zany modern dancer
– each with a long-held secret. When one of the guests is murdered, it’s
left to Bridgit, the feisty Irish maid with a macabre interest in homicide,
to solve the crime. Death by Design is more than homage – it’s a new

is directed by Nic Sigman with Wanda Dittman, and stars Bob Ashby, Amaya
Dull, Karen Holmes, Andrew King, Barb McCormick, Devin Taylor, Kaitlyn Teach,
and Tod Williams. "Death By Design" will run February 9, 10, 11, 16, & 17
at The Women’s Club, located at 31 S. Prospect St., in Hagerstown.
The curtain will rise at 8 p.m. for the Friday and Saturday
performances, while, the Sunday matinee will be at 3 p.m. Discounted $11
tickets are available in advance at www.potomacplaymakers.org, while $13
general admission seats will be available at the door.
