The Potomac Playmakers announce auditions for the first show of the
2017–2018 season, Dan Goggin’s classic musical, "Nunsense!"  In the show, a group
of nuns from Little Sisters of Hoboken stage a variety show to raise money to
pay for funeral expenses for sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent’s
cook!  Hijinks and hilarity ensue in the musical that was the winner of four
Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Off Broadway Musical!
Produced under special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., "Nunsense" will be
directed by Tod Williams, with musical direction by Ruth Stenger Japzon.  The
cast calls for five females, ranging in age from 20-60+.  Auditions for
"Nunsense" will be held on July 17 & 18, 2017 at The Women’s Club, located at
31 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown beginning at 7 p.m.
Applicants must prepare a minimum of 16 bars
of music, preferably a Broadway song.  There will be cold readings from the
script, and a dance portion of the audition.  Comfortable clothing is
encouraged.  Show dates for Nunsense will be September 22-24, 2017, with
possible additional performances TBA.
