Enjoy a drink and have a think at Culture & Cocktails, a lecture program at
the Miller House Museum, whrere a historical topic is tackled with the help of a
little liquid fortitude.
In May, Washington County Historical Society curator Anna Cueto will be
speaking about its vast collection of vintage postcards. During the early
20th century, postcards were the new craze, and Americans loved sending and
collecting postcards to each other, and postcard printers became more and
more creative as the fad continued. See examples of postcards from all over
Washington County and beyond, and learn more about how the trend impacted
local stores and businesses as well.
The specialty cocktail will be: The Bee's Knees. Get in the 1920s spirit with
this Prohibition Era classic. The super sweet honey drink was created
especially to cover up the harsh taste of bathtub gin.
Your ticket price will include your first drink, and refills will be
available for a small fee. This event is for adults ages 21 and older,
please. For more information, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
