This year's theme, "Midnight Masquerade: Fantasy Comes to Life" encompasses the event's spirit of dressing up and getting out and about in the community together. The theme of Masquerade/Carnivale won more votes in our online survey of supporters and attendees. We are excited to fill the town with fun, raising money and awareness for individuals and businesses to help Breast Cancer Awareness-CV. Dresses, masks, wigs, hats and more. We will once again be lining the streets with lights, red carpets, step and repeats and paparazzi to capture the glamour and fantasy that attendees are sure to bring!
Identity crisis was started as a social event 8 years ago and it has grown into a community fundraiser that brings hundreds to Shepherdstown. It is a celebration of life, a menagerie of creativity and a banding together of individuals, businesses, and organizations for charity. This will be the fourth year that we will be raising funds for the Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley organization.
The Identity Crisis Fundraiser shines the spotlight on Breast Cancer Awareness – Cumberland Valley and helps to raise funds for the organization so that they can continue to offer free services to those in need. Breast Cancer Awareness – Cumberland Valley is an important and vital resource, offering much-needed support and services such as wigs, hats & turbans, prostheses, house cleaning, meal assistance and so much more. Each year when we meet with BCA-CV, our passion for helping them make a difference is reenergized. All three of the staff are breast cancer survivors and extremely dedicated and connected to the cause. All programs are free and the support system that is offered is astounding. The organization offers hope, understanding, support, human compassion and a wonderful group of peers who have gone through or are going through similar situations.
BCA-CV serves Washington and Frederick counties in Maryland, Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania, and Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties in West Virginia and Winchester, Virginia areas.
