The rich history and obvious care with which the Don and Wanda Easterday have restored and preserved Ostertag Vistas is a natural draw for brides and grooms looking for an enchanting and unique atmosphere on their special day –– with 12 acres of land to peruse for special events. The renovated 19th century Swiss bank barn alone, which is perfect for hosting receptions, boasts a bridal suite, groom’s room, ample dressing room space, five restrooms and three stone fireplaces, plus it is handicap accessible. A large compass rose painted on the floorboards is a remnant of artist wanted to put an art studio in the barn 15 years ago, Don says. Now, couples often choose to have their first dance as husband and wife over the rose. In the summer, some couples choose to open the large barn doors for more of a covered pavilion ambiance. Plus, “the barn is acoustically perfect,” says Don. “It’s great for bands.”

While the barn is set up wonderfully for receptions, Don says most couples like to have their ceremonies outdoors, with the old log cabin, the willow tree and the amphitheater being some of the most popular locations. A path running through the meadows may serve as a classic entrance for couples that dream of a horse-drawn carriage ride, and the peaceful, natural ambience of streams and ponds throughout the property create a romantic atmosphere for any wedding one can imagine –– the farm is even approved for fireworks and hot air balloon launches.
