RidgeRunner Publishing, LLC began in 2004 with the birth of our flagship publication, Hagerstown Magazine. Our goal: to provide the local community with a relevant, fresh perspective on what it's like to live and do business in our area. Since then, our company has grown to include several custom and 6 regular publications, two websites and 15 employees — all of whom are bright, talented and enthusiastic about producing products that exceed expectations. |

Kate is an award-winning graphic designer and marketing professional with over 10 years of experience creating high-end publications in various markets. She helped to launch HM in October 2004 and Smart Company Magazine in January 2008, and directs the magazines’ respective missions to promote the best that life in Washington County and the surrounding area has to offer, and examine issues of interest to the business communities in Frederick and Washington counties. more...

Kate manages RidgeRunner Publishing, LLC operations, and directs editorial content, photography, sales and production. She holds a bachelor’s degree of fine arts in graphic design from Shepherd College, and believes in the power of giving and community spirit. She is a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Hagerstown and Hancock; member of the Hagerstown-Washington County CVB; serves on several boards and committees for organizations such as the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and Augustoberfest. Jason Turner, Director of Photography
A Williamsport native, Jason is an award-winning photojournalist and studio photographer. His keen eye, photojournalistic approach and creative capacity matched with his unobtrusive manner have made him one of the finest photographers in this area. With more than 10 years of freelance experience under his belt working for The Associated Press and many newspapers, including The Washington Post and The Baltimore Sun, Jason’s images have been widely published nationally as well as internationally. Jason joined the RidgeRunner Publishing team as Director of Photography in February 2008.

Kristin Harpster, Production Manager
Kristin joined the Hagerstown magazine team in the summer of 2006. She coordinates directly with advertisers to design effective ads to achieve their marketing goals. As production manager, Kristin ensures timely layout and design of Hagerstown magazine, HM Bride and HM Home, as well as Bravo! and the Hagerstown-Washington County Visitors Guide. She also helps maintains the HM Web site, updating current and archived articles, photos and online exclusives. She graduated from Shepherd University in 2005 with a degree in visual communication and concentration in graphic design. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, playing tennis and spending time with family and friends.

Stacey Campbell, Managing Editor
After growing up in a quiet Smithsburg neighborhood, Stacey attended Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, in Westminster, Md., graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2002 with a bachelor of arts degree in English and communication. Following graduation, she spent several years living in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Hampton, Va., working as a server and bartender. During this time she raided the local libraries, devouring books on the environment, the founding fathers and current social issues, along with multiple Victorian-era novels. Stacey and her high school sweetheart, Chaz, returned to Washington County in 2005, married a year later and recently purchased their first home in town. Together with Abigail, their Siberian husky, and feisty English springer spaniel, Mike, they enjoy many long walks, projects around the house and spending time with friends and family. more...

Stacey became part of the Hagerstown magazine team in March 2007 after working as an editorial assistant and copy editor for The Frederick News-Post. At HM, she assists in story planning, edits copy and writes bylined and non-bylined articles. | Larissa Newman, Assistant Editor
A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, Larissa earned her bachelor of arts degree in communication and English literature and language. Having always loved to write, she decided to pursue a career in publishing and joined the Hagerstown magazine and Smart Company Magazine team in August 2008. Her workday consists of bylined and non-bylined editorial writing, basic editing and assisting in compiling editorial for RidgeRunner’s various publications. Outside of work, Larissa resides in Frederick where she frequents the library, coffee shops and running paths to satisfy daily cravings. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, creatively filling her nights and weekends, winning Jeopardy in the living room, and annoying her brown cat, Marshmallow.

| Stacy Miller, Advertising Sales Manager
Now serving as advertising sales director, Stacy has been an account executive for HM since November 2004. She works closely with business owners in Washington County and neighboring Pennsylvania to develop advertising that best meets their needs. She serves on the membership committee for the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce and as a member of Business Networking International. A Washington County native, she loves to sing and play the piano — talents that helped to earn her the titles of Miss Washington County 2003 and Miss Gaithersburg 2004. Stacy now serves as assistant producer and choreographer for the Miss Washington County Scholarship Organization.

Matt Prince, Bookkeeper
As the part-time bookkeeper for RidgeRunner Publishing, Matt is responsible for accounts payable, receivable and more. He brings with him more than 20 years’ worth of experience as an accountant, including work as an internal auditor for Marriott Corp., controller for Windows Catering Co. and controller for Masci Restaurants. Matt, who earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., also owns American Heritage Photography. He specializes in fine art photographic prints of Civil War battlefields and nature images.

Lauren Stone, Circulation Director & Administrative and Sales Assistant
As Circulation Director and Administrative & Sales Assistant, Lauren manages subscriptions & distribution for both Hagerstown magazine & Smart Company Magazine. She also works closely with the rest of the HM team to provide sales support for all of the publications. Having worked in Hagerstown since 2005, she is still learning new things about the area every day. Lauren enjoys hanging out with her friends and riding her horse, Jerez.
